Our team received a service request for WAP setup and data cabling in Tulsa, OK, with the following scope of work:
Our onsite IT support in Tulsa, Oklahoma, began with on-site survey to identify the optimal WAP locations by running a heat mapping scan to determine optimal WAP locations for maximum coverage and performance based on the floor plan.
Marked the exact ceiling locations for each WAP to ensure optimal wireless coverage. Identified efficient and code-compliant pathways for Ethernet cable drops from each WAP to the switch rack. Laid the cables through existing cable trays and ceiling access points, carefully avoiding electrical lines to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI). Terminated each cable with RJ-45 connectors and tested all drops using a cable tester to verify continuity, signal speed, and correct pinout. Clearly labeled both ends of the cables at the PoE switch and WAP locations for easy identification and maintenance.
Mounted each WAP securely using the appropriate brackets and connected the Ethernet cables. Integrated the WAPs into the network via the PoE switch. Configured the SSIDs, VLAN assignments, and wireless security settings according to network requirements.
Finally, validated wireless performance and coverage using a WiFi heat mapping tool to check the reliable signal strength and connectivity throughout the area.
Although the customer is yet to installation Starlink as their back-up ISP, we informed them on how we may assist them by offering professional Starlink installation in Tulsa, OK.
