This article showcases the successful security camera system installation at business site located in Matthews, North Carolina. The project involved strategically positioning the cameras to maximize coverage of key access points, interior areas, and external perimeters, enhancing the overall security of the facility.
Assessment and Planning
Our onsite IT support in Matthews, NC received a service request for security camera installation. Based onsite assessment and planning, we identified the following scope of work:
- Install 25 Cat6 Plenum Drops for 25 IP Cameras.
- Replace of 15 existing cameras with newer IP cameras as per attached floor plan
- Install extra 9 new IP cameras and 1 camera two-way audio function as per attached floor plan
- Setup 24 Unit Security Package
- 32 Ports PoE Switch
- Terminate, test & label the drops at each end
- Bring all cameras & equipment online show client how it works and confirm with onsite POC.

Camera Installation and Cable Routing
After the planning and preparation, our team marked the predetermined installation points for cameras based on the floor plan. Installed the mounting brackets to ceilings and walls and set-up each camera. Then, we properly terminated, labelled and conducted CAT6 cable testing to verify proper wiring and connectivity within the network system.
Our team routed the cables above the ceilings and along the walls, then connected them to the existing network using a new PoE switch setup.

Following the hardware installation, our team initiated the network configuration and camera system integration. We accessed the PoE switch configuration to establish reliable communication pathways between the security cameras and the central monitoring platform. Each camera received a designated IP address for identification and system integration.
Our team configured the camera management software and performed comprehensive testing to verify that all twenty-five cameras delivered crystal-clear, high-resolution video feeds while maintaining perfect synchronization with the monitoring infrastructure. We activated sophisticated security features real-time notification systems, and customizable recording protocols. We calibrated each camera’s positioning, focal settings, and magnification levels to maximize image quality and ensure complete coverage of all critical zones, effectively eliminating potential blind spots and visual obstructions throughout the monitored areas.
After thorough testing and optimization, all security cameras were fully operational, ready to safeguard the premises with real-time monitoring and superior video surveillance.
