This article features the recent completed IT network infrastructure installation project for a Home Care and Hospice site in El Paso, Texas. The project involved the installation of Ethernet cabling, MDF & network equipment setup, and the wall mounting of a large display TV.
Project Overview and Objectives
A+ Mobile Techs was contracted to do a comprehensive IT Network infrastructure installation at Home Care & Hospice in El Paso, TX. The objective was to establish a high-performance networking backbone that supports medical record systems, staff communication, and care delivery through structured cabling and modern equipment setup.The project focused on three major components:
- Installation of 16 Dual Cat6 Ethernet Drops (32 total)
- Deployment of Network Equipment in a New MDF (Main Distribution Frame)
- Wall Mounting of a 65” Smart TV
This strategic deployment and installation of network facility will improve operational efficiency and patient care experience.
Scope of Work Done
Our onsite IT Support El Paso TX arrived onsite and performed the following:
1. Dual Cat6 Ethernet Drop Installation
A total of 32 Cat6 plenum-rated cable drops were installed, with each drop professionally terminated using CAT6 keystone jacks. Cable Testings were performed for each line, labeled and verified to meet National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
Materials Used:
- Cat6 Plenum Pure Copper Cable
- 2-Port Faceplates
- Keystone Jacks
- Low Voltage Mounting Brackets
These connections enable high-speed, interference-resistant data transfer—essential for healthcare facilities relying on electronic health records and VoIP communications.
2. Network Equipment & MDF Rack Installation
- Mounting a 4×4 fireproof plywood backboard
- Installing a 6U wall-mounted data rack and shelf
- Installing two 24-port Cat6 patch panels
- Installing client-provided network switches and a router
- Patching all connections with 1ft Cat6 patch cables
This structured, centralized setup enhances system organization and simplifies maintenance. Using quality materials and professional installation ensures long-term performance and reliability.
3. Smart TV Wall Mount Installation
Mounted a client-provided 65” Smart TV using a wall mount kit. This installation supports enhanced patient and staff communication, educational content delivery, or relaxation media.
