Our Onsite IT support team recently completed a comprehensive IT network installation project to support the relocation and operational readiness of a business office in Dallas, Texas. This project includes site survey assessment, followed by the installation of CAT6 cable drops, a Main Distribution Frame (MDF), essential network equipment, wireless access points (WAPs), and TV raceways and mounts.
Project Scope of Work
Our onsite IT support in Dallas TX received the service request to set up the IT Networks and equipment in their relocation business site. After data gathering and site survey visit, our team identified the following scope of work:
- Installation of an IT network rack / MDF in the designated IT room
- Installation and integration of patch panels, router, network switches and router
- Deployment of wireless access points (WAPs)
- Installation of cable drops to serve offices and cubicles
- Mounting of six smart TVs
Project Execution and Delivery
Our onsite IT support in Dallas TX, executed the job order in multiple phases in several site visits. Key deliverables include:
1. Data Cabling in Dallas TX
The installation of 29 cable drops forming the backbone of the structured cabling system for the new office. This includes the 18 newly installed CAT5e plenum-rated cables and 11 existing cable drops.
It was professionally terminated using CAT5e keystone jacks and labeled all terminations at both ends, adhering to National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. This careful labeling, as seen in the detailed images of the keystone jacks and testing equipment, facilitates easy identification for future maintenance and network troubleshooting.
The testing process, illustrated by the Klein Tools Scout Pro 3 in the images below, confirms that each connection passes inspection, underscoring our commitment to quality and reliability.
2. Wireless Access Points (WAP) Installation
Three wireless access points (WAPs) were strategically installed in three different locations for reliable Wi-Fi coverage throughout the office space. One of the access points was mounted directly onto the network rack, as specifically requested by the customer centralize access for core networking equipment within the IT room.
3. TV Mounting
The four client-provided smart TVs were installed across designated areas within the office to support presentations, internal communications, and collaborative workspaces. Each unit was securely mounted to the wall using heavy-duty mounting brackets to ensure stability, safety, and optimal viewing angles.
4. Main Distribution Frame (IT Rack) and Network Equipment Installation
First, the team removed the existing network equipment (legacy) to make room for the new setup. Secured the backboard as it could not support the weight of the new rack. Then, installed the 9U wall-mount rack, 2U rack shelf, 24-port Cat5e patch panel, switch and a router.
Conclusion
The IT network installation and equipment setup project was completed in full alignment with the client’s requirements. The newly established network infrastructure and audiovisual devices will serve as a strong foundation for continued operational excellence in the new Dallas office location.
