Our onsite IT support team recently tackled Cat5e Cabling project to the newly renovated business office located in Sherwood, Oregon.
Project Scope of Work
Our onsite IT support in Sherwood, OR received a service request for the installation of 17 Cat5e drops. All new cables were routed to a centralized location housing the existing IT equipment. Each drop was properly terminated, tested, and labelled. Upon completion, all drops were activated and verified in coordination with both the onsite and offsite points of contact (POC).

Our onsite IT support team identify the pathways for running cables based on the detailed layout plan, which includes accessing crawl spaces and walls. They made necessary sectional cuts were made to facilitate the access without compromising the integrity of the building.
Our team routed the Cat5e cables from the central IT rack location to designated drop points throughout the office. They terminated each cable drop at both ends, connecting the cable to the patch panel in the IT rack and the outlet (face plate) at the drop location.
This process involves terminating cable with RJ45 connector, labelled and tested using IDEAL 33-856 Data Cable Mapper. This tool is useful to pinouts of Ethernet cables, identify wiring faults (open, shorts, miswires, split pairs), and mapping cable runs with remote identifiers. This step verified that all cables were functioning correctly (PASS) and met performance standards.
Conclusion
The installation of 17 Cat5e cable drop to the newly renovated business office in Sherwood OR was executed professionally by our onsite IT support team. With meticulous termination, testing, and labelling of cables, have significantly enhanced the office’s connectivity and functionality.
